Floor Self Leveling

has your home settled and you floors are uneven? Looking to flatten out your floors before installing new flooring? You need our floor self leveling service

Floor Self Leveling Mortar Installation

Whenever you need to repair, smooth, or raise a floor, self-leveling concrete can be a fast, cost-effective solution to the problem.

Self-leveling concrete is a cementitious mixture much like concrete. But unlike concrete, it flows easier and sets up much faster. The product is mixed with water, pumped or poured into place and spread evenly with a gauge rake. Once it’s spread out, it continues to flow evenly and levels itself out. Depending on the product, it may set up smooth and flat within 1-2 hours. In about 6 hours, it may be completely hardened and ready for use, depending on the flooring material being installed on top. Self-leveling concrete can be used as an underlayment for tile, carpet, or other floor coverings. It is ideal for filling dips in wooden floors or for smoothing concrete ones. It is very important to have an even-surfaced floor when planning to place ceramic tiles or any other floorings because uneven surfaces cause tiles to crack.

The Process

Area Prep: The floor area to be poured has to be clean and primed before applying self leveling mortar. If you have a concrete floor it can be poured directly over primed concrete. If you have a wood subfloor, the wood subfloor has to have at least a 1/4″cement board installed on it prior to self leveling being poured. Our service pro’s will seal off the floor to ensure no self leveling leaks outside the area to adjacent rooms or rooms below, by sealing off all seams and corners of the floor. Also blocking off all floor vents, floor drains, and doorways.

Priming: A self leveling primer gets installed over concrete or cement board surface to ensure proper adhesion of the self leveling to the floor. Once the primer has dried its ready for the pour.

Pour: Our service pro’s will mix self leveling powder with water to an appropriate mixture for optimal flow. Then the self leveling in be poured starting from the lowest point of the floor to the highest point. After the self leveling is poured, our service pros will roll over the entire area with a self leveling spike rolled to ensure the flow of the self leveling to continue to flow until a flat surface is achieved. Once the area is properly leveled, the area must be allowed to cure/dry for 8-10 hours before foot traffic is allowed or any other flooring can be installed over the self leveling agent.
